The profession of electrician is prestigious, promising and well-paid. It has a demand on the labour market, requires accuracy, responsibility and ability to control the situation. The students of Ukrainian higher educational institutions are trained as highly skilled specialists. They study electrical engineering, electrical circuits, operating principles and components of electrical equipment, methods of detection and effective troubleshooting, principles of measuring tools, perform electrical equipment testing and research work. The first thing that an electrician should know is safety regulations when working with electric current. An electrical engineer can be employed at state and private enterprises, carry out private service of power consumers, conduct research work, and teach in educational institutions.

National University "Odessa Maritime Academy" (NUOMA) The history of NUOMA begins in June 1944, when new specialties were opened for the training of marine specialists: navigation, ship power plants and mechanisms, ship electrical installations and mechanisms, ship radio installations.
